"Ivy has always been a great communicator. She entered this world vocalizing," said wish mom, Danette, about her daughter. Although only 15-years-old, Ivy possesses the raw talent, drive and skills that the stars are made of. And now, she has the professional video to prove it compliments of Make-A-Wish® Alaska & Washington.
Living with brain cancer, this teen from Alaska spent two, 12-hour days shooting her very own professional music video for the song "At Ease," which she had written and recorded prior to her diagnosis. She was inspired to write this insightful and poignant song when her teacher was sent off to war. Her song tells the beautiful story of a young couple in love who are separated by war, and their desire for peace.
The video is the product of many from professional producers, video production teams, commercial stages, set designers, hair and makeup professionals and many others from our Seattle community who have donated their time and talent to make her wish come true.
Dressed to the nines, Ivy arrived with her date in a vintage 1940s classic car and was greeted by 200 guests who lined a red carpet at the Experience Music Project (EMP) for the world premiere of her video. Ivy had very specific ideas on how the video be shot and produced and much of her creative direction can be seen in the finished 1940s inspired piece which got rave reviews. Her inspiring song is now available for sale on iTunes and is also on our Chapter's Youtube channel.
