Diagnosed with a life-threatening seizure disorder, Isaac already has a long history of hospital stays, tests and treatments.
After Isaac experienced 96 seizures in a single month, his mom, Chelsea, decided it was time to contact Make-A-Wish® Alaska and Washington.
As it turned out, a vacation to Disneyland® over Halloween was just what the doctored ordered.
"Not once did he talk about his epilepsy or doctor's appointments and pills," said Chelsea, Isaac's mother. "He was just happy and carefree for an entire week."
After a long train ride from Seattle, Isaac and his family arrived at Disneyland® just in time for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween party. Isaac dressed up as a zombie bellhop and his sister, Kiarra, went as a minion.
During their time at Disneyland®, Isaac and his family enjoyed going on rides, watching the Halloween parade and fireworks and being VIP guests at the World of Color Show. Isaac especially enjoyed the scary rides, like Tower of Terror.
"His father and I are big babies when it comes to scary rides so Isaac normally doesn't get to go on them either, but with this being his wish trip, we sucked it up and went on every single ride that he wanted to go on whether we were terrified or not, and we all ended up loving it!" said Chelsea.
While it was Isaac's wish, the whole family was able to experience an amazing vacation while taking a break from the stresses of a life-threatening medical condition.
"Isaac's wish has been the highlight of all of our lives, not just his," said Chelsea. "He said it was the best trip ever, the best week of his entire life. I have not seen such joy and happiness on his face – so many smiles and laughs – in years."
