Wish recipient Elizabeth, battling cancer, has spent the last few years fighting for her life. Her wish to swim with dolphins in Hawaii was the light at the end of the tunnel. “Wishes give children something spectacular to look forward to when all they have in front of them are surgeries, hospitals, needles, and medicine that make them sick,” said Jacey, Elizabeth's mom.
So, on January 24, Make-A-Wish Washington partnered with KHQ, KNDU and KNDO to call for donated airline miles to help grant the travel wishes of children in Eastern Washington.
Elizabeth and her mom stood side-by-side with local Make-A-Wish volunteers to spread the message of our need for donated airline miles for other children like Elizabeth.
With the support of this community, we raised an incredible 3,282,799 miles. This equates to about 82 tickets and an approximate cost savings of about $41,000.
Thanks to your generous support, we can continue to grant the wishes to local children like Elizabeth.
