WHO & WHAT:
Do you want to see the face of a five-year-old when her wish comes true? Come watch Kadie when she’s presented with her sparkling new playhouse by Make-A-Wish Alaska and Washington and the community. The wish celebration will take place during Tri-Cities Wish Week, a dedicated weeklong effort to showcase local wish kids and make sure that all eligible children receive a wish.
WHEN & WHERE:
Thursday, June 4 at 3 p.m.
Kadie arrives at her home to receive her very own playhouse. Watch this special wish come true and snap photos of this cancer-fighting pixie and her friends and family as she plays in her new space for the first time. 2311 Scootney Rd. Connell, WA. 99326.
HOW TO HELP:
Right now we do not have enough Spanish-speaking volunteers in the Tri-Cities area. We do not want to keep other wish kids waiting. Call 855.721.5016.
About Make-A-Wish Alaska and Washington:
Since 1986, Make-A-Wish Alaska and Washington has granted wishes to more than 5,700 children, nearly 1,000 of whom are from Eastern Washington, with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. According to a 2011 U.S. study of wish impact, most health professionals surveyed believe a wish-come-true can influence the health of children. Kids say wishes give them renewed strength to fight their illnesses, and their parents say these experiences help strengthen the entire family. Currently, there are more than 400 children awaiting their wishes and there are more who qualify for our services, yet we are unable to reach them and grant their wishes due to a lack of funds and capacity. In fact, every year, one in four seriously-ill children in Alaska and Washington do not receive a wish because of a lack of funding.
