Eleven-year-old Hannah loves basketball. So it came as no surprise to her family when she jumped at the opportunity to meet her favorite professional women’s basketball team, the Seattle Storm, and especially her favorite player, Temeka Johnson. It’s part of a special partnership that Make-A-Wish® Alaska and Washington has with the Storm where each year they are given the opportunity to nominate one child for a special Storm experience. This special experience is an enhancement to Hannah’s actual wish which was to visit Disney World with her family last November.
One of Hannah’s favorite things to do is to watch the Storm play on TV with her dad. Hannah has been an avid basketball fan ever since her dad started coaching her sister’s team. Even though she can’t play she is always at every game cheering on her family.
Hannah and her family will be visiting the KeyArena on August 20th, 2013 to represent Make-A-Wish Alaska and Washingtonat the Storm’s practice and game against the Los Angeles Sparks. That day, at the Storm’s practice Hannah will have an opportunity to shoot some hoops with them and meet her favorite players (from 10-11 a.m.). Before the game, Hannah will enjoy some more court time as well as some fun surprises guaranteed to make her feel like a special part of the team. Game starts at 7 p.m. and doors are at 6 p.m.
