WHO & WHAT
Make-A-Wish Washington, the non-profit organization that grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions, is hosting a week-long celebration of wish-granting in Tri Cities from June 2nd through 9th! Wish Week kicks off with six-year-old Miette’s wish for a renovated airstream trailer and will continue with community events throughout the week.
WHEN & WHERE
Miette’s Trailer Renovation Wish with a Special ‘Perk’
Sunday, June 2nd, 3 to 5 p.m. Come down to Barracuda Coffee (2171 Van Giesen Street, Richland) to celebrate six-year-old Miette’s wish for a renovation of her family’s Airstream trailer. Miette will arrive via Corvette caravan from 3 Rivers Corvette Club to Barracuda Coffee Company, where she will work her dream job as a barista! Coffee, donuts, and Blue Bunny ice cream will be provided free of charge. She’ll see her trailer for the first time when friends and family shout ‘move that truck!’ at a Blue Bunny ice cream semi-truck, hiding her trailer in the parking lot. Come see the surprise on her face!
Wells, the maker of Blue Bunny ice cream, is adopting Miette’s wish as part of their 100 Years, 100 Wishes campaign in which they will grant 100 wishes to children throughout the country in honor of their milestone birthday.
Wish Week is Official!
Tuesday, June 4th, 6 p.m. During the City Council meeting, a Mayoral Proclamation naming June 2nd through 9th “Make-A-Wish Week” in Tri-Cities will be announced.
Happy Hour for Hope
Wednesday, June 5th, 4 to 8 p.m. Time to say ‘Cheers’ to wishes! Join us at our Happy Hour for Hope at Cedar’s in Kennewick (355 Clover Island Drive, Kennewick) for a toast to hope, strength, and joy.
Corvettes on the Columbia
Friday, June 7th, 2 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Clear the way for the Corvette caravan to Desert Wind Winery (2258 Wine Country Road, Prosser)! We will meet at the South Ridge Sports Complex (2901 Southridge Boulevard, Kennewick) for the Corvette staging and start of the caravan. The caravan departs for the private winery event at 5:45 p.m.
Saturday, June 8th
8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Join us for the Corvettes on the Columbia event, sponsored by 3 Rivers Corvette Club and McCurley Integrity Dealerships, to benefit our local chapter! The event will be held at Columbia Park (5111 Columbia Park Trail) in Kennewick. Food and beverages will be available, as well as a silent auction and more than 200 Corvettes dating from 1953 to 2013.
5 p.m. Hop on over to Clover Island Inn (435 Clover Island Drive, Kennewick) for a comedy hour and outdoor concert featuring Groove City Band. The goal for this year is to raise enough funds to grant seven wishes to local kids! Local wish kids will be in attendance at the event.

About Make-A-Wish Washington
Since our inception, Make-A-Wish Washington has granted nearly 900 wishes to local children in Eastern Washington with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. This year, the local chapter will grant about 120 wishes in Eastern Washington alone. According to a 2011 U.S. study of wish impact, most health professionals surveyed believe a wish-come-true can influence the health of children. Kids say wishes give them renewed strength to fight their illnesses, and their parents say these experiences help strengthen the entire family.
