  • During difficult stem cell transplants and leukemia treatments, wish kid Jack’s love for animals kept his spirits high during this very difficult time. When he was told he was eligible for a wish by Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic, he knew he wanted to use this opportunity to explore his passion: marine life. A wish to go to the Maldives was the much-needed getaway that Jack and his family needed. During their time in the tropical country, located in the Indian Ocean, Jack and his family stayed in an over-water hut, courtesy of our friends at Hilton, dined at an underwater restaurant and even embarked on a private island excursion! “We learned to snorkel and vowed to make it our new family hobby! One of the many, many highlights was seeing the sea turtles. Jack amazed the guides by identifying all the fish he saw and by the questions he asked,” Jack’s mom, Lesli, said.
