Wish Alumni

When a wish is granted for you or a family member, you become a part of a larger family; one that understands the trials and tribulations of childhood illness in a way no one else can. You and your family’s wish journey becomes part of Make-A-Wish history. And, just because the wish has been granted, doesn’t mean the wish connection is over. We’d love to stay in touch.

That’s why we’ve created a Wish Family Alumni group -- a place for past wish recipients to share stories, make connections and get involved to make future wishes come true.

We’ll keep you posted on exciting events happening at Make-A-Wish Alaska and Washington so you can continue to be in the know. Join the community of Wish Family Alumni on Facebook by emailing and requesting an invite.

  • Share your story: There is nothing more powerful than your words, pictures, stories and quotes to ignite support for future wishes. Please share your wish on social media and tag us @MakeAWishAKWA
  • Wish it forward: As the number of wish kids eligible to receive a wish increases, so does the need for critical funding. Find out how you can help raise funds to make future wishes a reality. We have some really easy online ways to do this! Email
  • Become a wish-granting volunteer: Right now, many children are waiting for their wishes because we don’t have enough volunteers. If you or anyone you know is interested in becoming a volunteer, let us know! Email

We can’t wait to hear from you and celebrate the long-lasting impact of wishes.

  • “Wishes have given my boys a chance to feel the sun on their cheeks and the freedom of movement—and a chance to focus on joy, not fear.” –Crystal, wish mom

  • “For me, the memory of Lindsey’s wish is like a precious gem that I keep tucked away in a velvet-lined box in my mind.” –Cindy, wish mom

While doctors focus on medical problems, and treatment focuses on lessening them, Make-A-Wish focuses on dreams and stops at nothing to deliver them. ”
