Jaden meets his idols the Fresh Beat Band

“ It meant the world for him to join his favorite band on stage and forget about the hard times. ”

I wish you could have been there when Jaden climbed on stage at the Fresh Beat Band concert. He knew his wish was going to be good, but he didn’t know just how good.

At that moment, all he could feel was the beat of the music, the cheers of the crowd, and exhilaration to be on stage with his favorite musicians. He climbed on stage to the beat of his favorite song, “Just Like a Rock Star,” and that’s when the joy overflowed.

Thanks to you, Jaden’s wish came true.

Jaden has watched videos of the Fresh Beat Band for several years. He’s practiced dancing at home, and he’s always wondered what it felt like to be a rock star. Jaden doesn’t always feel like a rock star in daily life. He’s battling a life-threatening heart condition, and he also has Down Syndrome, making it sometimes hard for him to communicate with others.

But this sweet 10-year-old finds joy from his family and friends—and by listening to his favorite music. That’s why it meant the world for him to join his favorite band on stage and forget about the hard times.

Jaden’s mom Traci recalls the wish experience: “I want to thank all of you for your efforts to make Jaden’s wish the most amazing experience he has ever had! I have never seen him more excited than he was waiting for his turn to go on stage with the Fresh Beat Band. Not only was this an exhilarating experience for him, I can’t express how much it meant to my family.”

Band member Thomas Hobson, also known as Shout, recalled Jaden’s wish experience in an interview with The Detroit News: “I got a reminder of why we do what we do. There was a little adorable kid there from the Make-A-Wish Foundation and his wish was to dance on stage with us…At the end, I saw him [Jaden] there in the wings, still having a great time. I went over and got him and he danced our last song as well. Living on a bus is hard. Being away from family is hard. But at that moment, I knew why I do it and that I could find all the energy I needed.”

Becoming a rock star isn’t an every day experience, and we thank YOU for helping to make Jaden’s wish come true. Watch his wish experience here: https://youtu.be/zdi2DUWOT9c

I want to thank all of you for your efforts to make Jaden’s wish the most amazing experience he has ever had! ”
