The wishes we grant are as diverse and creative as the children that make them, and almost 80% of these wishes involve travel.
Support of caring people is vital to ensuring that we are able to fulfill wishes of children like Dhanush – a young boy with severe chronic neutropenia who’s wish was to be reunited with the doctor who in his words, “saved his life,” by detecting his condition. The two lived thousands of miles apart so Dhanush and his family, like many of our wish kids and families, boarded a flight and embarked on a life-changing trip.
This year, Make-A-Wish Alaska and Washington will need over 44,000,000 miles to help fulfill wishes like Dhanush’s. At our Alaska and Washington chapter, we have an annual 10-million-mile funding gap. Your gift could help fill that gap, defray costs, and make a child’s wish come true.
Frequent flier miles are an asset that is often forgotten in estate planning, but those miles can mean the world to our wish families. When you donate your frequent flier miles from our airline partners to Make-A-Wish, they will never expire, and they allow our wish kids – and their families – to take the dream trips that they will cherish for a lifetime.
