Picture it: Wish kid Hunter is all of about 4 feet tall. He's on stage in front of 1,000 people hoisting up his 2 x 2 feet framed wish art. The frame is carefully tucked under his chin, one knee is drawn up for extra support and a confident smile across his face says, "I'm tough. I'm strong. I beat cancer, so don't worry, I can hold up my artwork."
It was one of many moments during the Wish Night Gala and Auction, which raised more than $1.25 million, that stole the show and people's hearts.
Guests were wowed by auction items and entertainment, including the second chapter of Colby's secret agent wish. Agent C, otherwise known as Colby, used his wits to restore order as his arch nemesis threatened to sabotage the evening.
Another highlight was John Crowley's speech. A wish dad of two, and also the subject of the major motion picture Extraordinary Measures, John talked about the impact that his family's wish experience had on them and continues to have many years later.
"It was a lovely night with wonderful people, beautiful stories and dreams that came true," said Wish Night guest and sponsor, Linda Bjornby. "Thank you Make-A-Wish for all you do for these children and families. Hope is a beautiful thing!"
