Fifteen-year-old Makenna Schwab is inspiring a new generation of local philanthropists. In 2016, Make-A-Wish®
Alaska and Washington granted her wish to meet actor Chris Pratt. She chose to meet Pratt because she wanted to brainstorm ways they could work together to make a bigger difference for children facing critical illnesses just like her. Makenna’s heartfelt wish continues to give back to children today, and this year she’ll be hosting a Make A Difference Day fundraiser and toy drive to benefit other wish kids. Makenna will be collecting new backpacks, luggage, games, blankets and monetary donations.
Saturday, October 27, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Wenatchee Pediatric Dentistry (146 Easy Way, Wenatchee, WA, 98801)
Research shows children who receive a wish gain physical and emotional strength needed to fight a critical illness. Right now there are 10 kids in the Wenatchee area who are waiting to receive a wish, and Makenna wants to help.

ABOUT MAKE-A-WISH ALASKA AND WASHINGTON
Together, we create life-changing wish experiences for children with critical illnesses. Research shows children who have wishes granted build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness. This improves their quality of life and produces better health outcomes. When a wish is granted, a child replaces fear with confidence, sadness with joy and anxiety with hope. Yet, not every child in our territory who is eligible for a wish receives one. With your help, we can change that. For more information please call 800.304.9474, visit akwa.wish.org
