She leads a talented communications and marketing team charged with sharing the heart of our mission, our wishes, with constituents via email and print communications, the website, social media and media relations.
Jeannette began her career in public relations more than 2,000 miles away from Seattle at a small boutique PR firm in Detroit. After several years helping clients achieve their goals, she had the unique opportunity to custom create a media and public relations position at Make-A-Wish Michigan. As that chapter’s first media and public relations professional, she built a solid program that helped the organization increase their visibility and grow their community support.
After six years, Jeannette moved to Seattle where she freelanced for several clients, including Make-A-Wish America, and worked at the University of Washington as a copywriter before joining Make-A-Wish Alaska and Washington in 2008.
In her current position, Jeannette develops the chapter’s communications and marketing strategy and works in partnership with the professional staff, trustees and volunteers to implement these plans. She’s a skilled marketing and communications professional with more than 15 years of experience writing and editing, managing media relations, providing special event support, developing and executing crisis communication plans, managing email and website communications and branding.
Jeannette earned her bachelor's degree in journalism with an external specialty in marketing from Michigan State University.
