He is the most tenured employee at Make-A-Wish Alaska and Washington and began his career here as the Executive Director in 1991.
Barry has served in the nonprofit sector his entire career. He is accredited as a Certified Fund Raising Executive by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, a credential representing the highest standards of professional competence and ethical practice in serving the philanthropic sector. He is also a member of the Association of Fund Raising Professionals.
In 2003 he was the recipient of the Northwest Development Officers Association's Professional Achievement Award. Additionally, he is a past chair of the board of visitors for Seattle University’s Executive Master of Not-for-Profit Leadership program, and currently serves on the University of Washington’s Fundraising Certificate Program Advisory Committee. He received his bachelor’s degree in Economics at the University of Washington.
